Finally back for the 20th!

NO ANGELS RELEASE THEIR ANNIVERSARY ALBUM “20” ON 04.06.2021

Only the very greatest hits – newly interpreted & arranged … plus 4 brand new songs by Sandy, Lucy, Jess and Nadja!

Two decades after their meteoric rise, these four voices sound more stunning than ever before: No Angels release their eagerly awaited anniversary album “20” on June 04! While a large part of the tracklist reads like the ultimate best-of of the “noughties”, the four Angels go one better for the round anniversary and give their recently reawakened fanbase no less than four brand new tracks, which they recorded with their producer Christian Geller!

This is the moment their fans have been waiting for: The No Angels are back! Yet for a long time it didn’t really look like a third career chapter – even though they have all remained true to the music in different forms. But where great things are set in motion, waves are inevitably created; these waves can trigger a maelstrom – and that’s exactly what should lead to this third chapter: After their multiple award-winning back catalog had only been made available digitally for the first time in the fall of 2020, old and new fans formed a new, “digitized” No Angels community within a very short time, whose wishes could soon no longer be ignored: More music! Newly produced music! New music! Come back at last!

Since Lucy, who now lives in Bulgaria, had been thinking over and over again that one couldn’t just let such a round anniversary go by, one thing finally led to another – and suddenly things happened very quickly: the “most successful girl band in German chart history” agreed on a “celebration version” of their very first hit single “Daylight In Your Eyes”. Seven years after the second break-up, four of the five founding members – Sandy Mölling, Lucy Diakovska, Jessica Wahls and Nadja Benaissa – got together in the studio and set about finding the right sound for this anniversary recording with their long-time producer Christian Geller. The result made its way like the sun’s rays at the start of the day: the beat, the four angels speaking out one after the other – until the iconic chorus outshines everything.

“I was absolutely delighted when Lucy then called me one day and told me about the idea that we should all meet again 20 years after ‘Daylight In Your Eyes’ – and that there was probably the possibility of recording the song with Christian Geller in a new and contemporary way, simply as a tribute to our fans. Fantastic!”. Nadja is quoted with these words in the exclusive anniversary book that comes with the limited fan box of “20”. In fact, it was a bit like back then, because in 2001, too, all the cameras were suddenly focused on her when this song appeared – and within a few days it rolled over everything. It was the first of several #1 singles. The harbinger of three #1 albums in a row. The perfect prelude to the first chapter of their career. And now also for the third…

From 2000, the No Angels rolled over everything: Washed into the limelight as winners of the groundbreaking reality TV format “Popstars,” the #1 debut single “Daylight In Your Eyes” acted as the starting signal for a success story that is still unmatched today! With 188 weeks in the single and 164 weeks in the album charts, they are still the most successful girl group in Germany. Unrivaled even in continental Europe, they occupied the 1st place in the German single charts for 16 weeks alone (including “There Must Be An Angel”, “Something About Us” and “No Angel (It’s All In Your Mind)”). After each of their first three studio albums went to the top of the charts in the years 2001-2003, they disbanded to start the next series of hits with two more studio releases starting in 2007 – including singles like “Goodbye To Yesterday”, “Disappear” and “One Life”. Until their second breakup in 2014, they won about two dozen awards.

The album “20” will be released by BMG on June 4, 2021.
